Agility Robotics files confidentially to go public via Churchill Capital SPAC
Agility submitted a draft S-4 for its merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, the paperwork step toward listing publicly via a SPAC (a shell company that takes a firm public without a traditional IPO). It also just named Michael Beer CFO and opened a Fremont facility near Tesla. A confidential filing means no financials are public yet, so this signals intent, not audited numbers.

Figure 03 arrives at BMW, moving from pilot toward line work
Figure's third-generation humanoid landed at BMW, following an earlier claim that its F.02 contributed to producing 30,000 cars there. Figure 03 adds tactile-sensor hands, palm cameras, and wireless charging. This is a vendor-reported deployment on a real automaker floor, not an audited throughput figure, so treat the car count as Figure's own claim.

1X names a CFO and VP of Engineering, staffing up around NEO
1X brought on Bill Nash as CFO (from autonomy and aerospace) and Tom Sanocki as VP of Engineering, following its 25-DOF hand reveal for the NEO home humanoid. A CFO hire from capital-heavy industries usually precedes a large raise or commercial push. No funding figures disclosed.

New arXiv model targets humanoids doing walking and manipulation at once
A paper introduces omega-0, a latent predictive world-action model (a system that imagines future outcomes before acting) for concurrent humanoid loco-manipulation, meaning moving and using its hands at the same time. Doing both together is a known weak spot for humanoids. This is a research result with no deployment or independent benchmark yet.

2026 robotics funding already tops all of 2025 at roughly $40B
Halfway through 2026, robotics equity funding hit about $40B across 824 rounds, versus $36B across 1,150 rounds for all of 2025. July alone logged 115 rounds totaling $7.84B. Fewer, larger checks mean capital is concentrating in later-stage humanoid and physical-AI bets, though about a third of entries report no amount.
