Thin news day: Agility formally closed its public-market debut, and a couple of fresh robot foundation models surfaced, but little else cleared.

  • Agility closes its SPAC merger, now a public company
Update: the merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI completed on November 4, finalizing the roughly $465M gross raise at a $2.5B valuation already flagged when shareholders approved it. The close converts a planned deal into an actual balance sheet, giving Agility the cash to service its stated $300M-plus in multi-year Digit 5 orders.

  • LiberAI unveils Liber-0, a world action model trained on human video
LiberAI released Liber-0, a model it calls a world action model (software that predicts actions from learned physical dynamics) trained to map human experience onto robot motion. No independent benchmarks or deployment figures were disclosed, so this reads as a vendor launch rather than audited capability. It adds another entrant to the crowded race to build one brain that runs across robot types.

  • Apple research posts a humanoid motion method trained purely in simulation
Apple AI/ML researchers published Perceptive Humanoid Motion from Simulation, a method for producing vision-aware humanoid movement learned entirely in a simulator, with code and videos. No hardware deployment numbers are given, so this is a research result, not a product. It marks continued work from Apple on the sim-to-real problem of transferring simulator-trained policies to real robots.

  • MUSE raises $11M to expand its Japanese retail robot into the US
Tokyo-based MUSE raised about $11M (13.5M USD reported) from 15 backers including Rakuten Capital to scale Armo, its in-store service robot, from Japan into the US. The round is small and the robot is a wheeled service unit rather than a humanoid. It signals continued investor appetite for narrow, deployed retail automation over general-purpose platforms.
